Changes in the United States Military Policy
The United States military is known for her involvement in almost all parts of the globe. The soldiers are in every corner of the world today fighting or just waiting for a war to erupt in the overseas bases (Ploch 20). The Americans use their soldiers to exert their influence globally for instance in Afghanistan and Iraqi. The American government also maintains dozens of military bases across the globe preparing to attach any real or perceived enemy. Although the military in foreign bases plays a significant strategic role, changing the military policies may impact positively on the country.
First, I would reduce the number of soldiers in foreign countries and also minimize the number of military bases. The bases are costly, and even some of them have never had any significant role to play (Ploch 21). They intimidate the locals and increase aggression on the targeted country towards the US. Occupying other countries also brings the fillings of bullying where the local populations feel harassed. Instead of having soldiers in foreign soil, I would institute economic programs and forge a friendship with the invaded countries. At home, the soldiers would reside in large camps such that it would be easy to mobilize them in case of need.
The change would be beneficial to the country by reducing the expenditure incurred through foreign missions (Ploch 21). The money spent to fund military activities would be used to provide better services to the Americans for instance construct infrastructure and provide better healthcare.

Wait! What would you change in the government and how would the change affect the country? paper is just an example!

At the same time, concentrating the soldiers at home means they will spend their money inside the country. Bringing them at home has the effect of leading to economic growth in the country as opposed to when they are in foreign countries.
In conclusion, the United States has used her vast military might to exert influence on other countries (Ploch 20). However, this had only created hatred with many nations of the world. The soldiers need to be returned to the States and operate from there. The military is more productive at home as opposed to foreign bases for instance; expenditure will reduce and also the soldiers will lead to economic growth directly through their spending.
Conservatism
Conservatism is a social-political ideology that calls for the continuation of the established traditions and resistance to any change (Scruton 3). In the political sphere, conservatives seek to preserve the monarch, civil rights and remain opposed to government modernization. In the US today, conservative ideas are associated with the little-known tea party. The movement advocates for low taxes and opposes the increased influence of the federal government.
