Hellgoing and On Seeing the 100% Perfect Girl
Expectations and Realities (Thesis Statement): Though characters in both stories had high expectations, the reality turned out to be different just like circumstances we experience in the society.
Appearance (Thesis Statement): Though appearance may seem as an ordinary aspect in the society, people should take it seriously as it has an impact on the ways we see the society and people.
Outline: Expectation and Realities
In both stories, we see characters expecting to see things in their usual condition but get surprised by the reality of events. In the story On Seeing the 100% Perfect Girl, just like in the real world, a man would expect a lady to look beautiful right from body features to dressing (Leap 18). The author is disappointed with the real state of the lady whom he sees not beautiful. The story Hellgoing presents challenges experienced in the society by mostly women. The story displays men as being troublesome and chaotic something we see in our daily life (Coady 7). Towards the end, there is a change of events when Theresa expected to find the chaotic situation at home but only got a calm and organized home.
The first story shows how beauty is physically regarded in society while the second article explains the state of events in most families. According to the first story, men do not consider the aspect of character when dating women but appearance. On the other hand, the second story shows the challenges found in our society.

However, these challenges are overcome when people come to their correct reasoning.
Society has high expectation for individuals. Expectations can be either positive or negative as shown in the two stories. The first story shows that society expects women to be extraordinary beautiful while the second story shows that in the society, there are some vices expected of people in society.
Outline: Appearances
In both stories, the characters are shaped to display some aspects in the society. For instance, in the On Seeing the 100% Perfect Girl, the author expected the lady to be good wearing beautiful clothes and having body features like a nice nose. In Hellgoing, the characters are displayed with bad characters (Coady 21). They are unhygienic, and they care less about it.
Appearance plays a significant role in an individual general judgment. The presentation shows the general character of an individual and portrays an individual as intelligent, beautiful, or careless. Appearance is a compelling aspect in any story that determines a reader’s perception of the character.
The two stories show that the society will treat us the way we appear or present ourselves. In the first story, if the lady would have dressed decently, the author would have seen her beautiful looking. Also, in the second story, Theresa saw his family members arrogant from their behaviors.
