Government agencies constitute of organizations developed either by legislation or by an executive order to facilitate the administration of particular functions in the government. In other words, the U.S Department of Defense is an executive branch of the government that directly facilitates functions of the government. The chapter expounds an explanatory narrative to the context of the U.S Defense Agency.
Discussion
The U.S Department of Defense was established by the National Security Act by the Congress in 1947; it included the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the departments of the U.S Army, U.S Navy and Coast Guard, the U.S Air Force and various agencies developed in the division CITATION USA18 l 1033 (USA.gov, 2018). With the dynamics of time, various amendments to the original act of 1947 influenced power to the secretary of defense and strengthened the coordination between defense forces in the country. Currently, the defense department constitutes of the secretary of defense, deputy secretary of defense; undersecretaries and assistant secretaries, the office of the attorney general, departments of the Army, Navy, and Air Force and various departments and agencies facilitating the functions of defense and intelligence accumulation.
Military departments including the Navy, Army, and Air Force administrate the process of training and equipping military forces.

They are unified under unified commanders that report separately to the president. Nonetheless, the military has diverse departments such as engineers and health practitioners who take part in communal and civil functions that improve the community. Correspondingly as an entity, the U.S Department of Defense collects intelligence through various agencies in order to protect and execute the national security of the country.
Conclusion
The agency of defense in the country addresses the threats to national security. The agency conveys a network of departments concerned with the purpose of collecting intelligence and protecting the American life. The defense agency also plays an important role that aids the country in cases of natural disasters, the significance of the agency is visualized in the vigilant results accomplished by the agency in the past decades.
