How Turmeric Consumption Reduces Inflammatory Stress
Introduction
Osteoarthritis at times is referred to as degenerative joint disease. It is an infection that affects most of the people in this world. The primary source of the disorders has never been known up to date. However, one always starts suffering from the infection when the joint structures start to become abnormal. The chronic condition is managed by the intake of analgesics and no steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The situation is usually characterized by the declining of expression of chondrocyte protein. That often leads to the cartilages being destroyed; a lot of pain at the joint and movement is also restricted. The number of cases when people suffering from the degenerative joint disease has been on the rise for the past three decades (Nakagawa, 45). Osteoarthritis of the knee has been associated with issues like previous injury and knee bending occupations. The treatment of the condition includes NSAIDs, doing various exercises, and physiotherapy weight relieving braces. The continuous utilization of NSAIDs leads to some side effects on the patient.
Article one
The primary reason as to why the authors did the studies was to show how the consumption of turmeric helps in reducing stress among those individuals suffering from knee osteoarthritis. Therefore, the authors had to start by proving the short-term effects that come about as a consuming highly bioavailable curcumin for treatment of knee osteoarthritis.

Wait! Does consumption of turmeric reduce inflammatory stress in people with osteoarthritis of knee? paper is just an example!

The study was supposed to indicate the clinical implications of issuing out theracurmin orally to those people who are suffering from knee osteoarthritis within eight weeks. The hypotheses question was that the symptoms and functional strengths of someone suffering from the knee osteoarthritis would improve after continuous consumption of theracurmin for eight weeks. They focused on the consumption of curcumin which is usually extracted from turmeric. In most cases, curcumin is used in spices such as curries. Curcumin typically controls some biochemical and molecular pathways. They usually do that by modulating some molecular targets.
Methods
Two treatment groups were utilized to try and establish the truth about the hypothesis. The groups included theracurmin and placebo. Using radiographic analysis, they were able to choose fifty patients. Knee osteoarthritis was the ones in the inclusion criteria. Those patients had to be over forty years of age. Every day they used to administer theracurmin or placebo twice for eight weeks. Those who were taking theracurmin had to take six capsules a day similar to those who were consuming a placebo. Blood analysis was done before and after the eight weeks’ period. To check on the progress, the patient had to assess his pain and stiffness, the general life daily, how he conducts his public activities and the health situation.
Results
Two placeboes and seven theracurmin students dropped out. The numbers of analyzed patients were twenty-three placebos and eighteen theracurmin leading to a total of forty-one patients. There were various reasons as to why those patients who left had (Nakagawa, 36). In the finding, it indicated that the knee pain in the patients treated with theracurmin was relatively lowered as compared to those individuals treated with placebo at the end of the eight weeks. The same results were experienced regarding the daily condition of life, general activities and the health condition. Therefore, it means that theracurmin can be used to improve the situation of the people suffering from knee osteoarthritis. Curcumin affects arthritis. That is because it helps reduce the servility of the case. Moreover, it helps in the production of B cell, therefore, lacking a factor to activate.
Article Two
The primary reason as to why the authors did the studies was to show how the consumption of turmeric helps in reducing stress among those individuals suffering from knee osteoarthritis. Thus, they had to prove that Curcuma longa extract can lower inflammatory and oxidative stress. It is challenging to repair damaged joint structure; therefore, it is good to take preventive measures. Even if the doctor fixes a damaged structure or ligament, it won’t be the same as before. That has led to alternative medicine that lacks side effects. Curcuma longa usually knew as turmeric is one of the alternatives (Srivastava, 382). The study was aiming at observing how Curcuma longa extract helps in the improvement of patients of KOA. Then it was also to check on the correlation between clinical development together with biomarkers of oxidative inflammation and stress.
Methods used
Trial Design was one of the methods used. Here the effects of Curcuma longa were supposed to be differentiated with placebo. The patients to be treated had to be suffering from osteoarthritis of the knee. The other method was the selection of some of the patients and eligibility criteria method. The research was done randomly on outpatients who were suffering from osteoarthritis of the knee. The American College of Rheumatology was the guideline that was used in coming up with the patients. Only patients who were of age forty to eight and were suffering from the osteoarthritis of the knee were included. The extract from Curcuma longa rhizomes was used as the study product. They processed turmeric capsules which contained the Curcuma longa extracts and turmeric B which had placebo capsule. Afterwards, a total of one hundred and sixty patients suffering from osteoarthritis of the knee were enrolled. The patients were grouped randomly into the CL extract and placebo treatment depending on how the computer distributes you. Seventy patients were to take CL extract, and eighty-two were to take placebo capsule. They were to take the pills twice a day for up to four months. The outcome was assessed initially, after two months and then after four months.
Results
It was noted that the incidence of osteoarthritis is on the rise among the old people. The tenderness age ranges from fifty to eighty. Females are the ones that are more affected than the males. Those who use Curcuma longa indicated more improvements in their pain and stiffness, unlike the ones who were under the placebo treatment. Other than that, there was some decrease in disease-related biomarkers.
Discussion from the research
From both the research it is evident that the consumption of turmeric helps in reducing inflammatory stress amongst those people who are suffering from osteoarthritis of the knee. Theracurmin helped a lot in reducing pain. The people living with osteoarthritis of the knee ingest theracurmin from time to time when they life is improved. Theracurmin is an excellent potential of treating those with osteoarthritis of the knee. Therefore, it can be taken as an herbal supplement (Srivastava, 30). It is evident that curcumin is very safe because it lacked adverse events. One cannot start suffering from side effects, even when he ingests the curcumin for an extended period. The limitation of the first article can be said to be the number of patients used. Those patients were too little to affirm the result for the population of almost the whole world. Moreover, the four weeks that they used to conduct their studies cannot be enough to derive enough conclusions on the effectiveness of curcumin. Once someone has been diagnosed to be having osteoarthritis of the knee, then he should be administered to the prolonged intake of CL.
When I compare the results that I acquired from the articles and the research question, then the consumption of turmeric reduces inflammatory stress. It is of great help to patients suffering arthritis by reducing the amount of inflammatory stress. From the results, it is evident that the use of turmeric improves the life of KO in general and reduces pain. With continued consumption of turmeric, the pain slowly goes away. As a result, that will make one free and thus avoid being traumatized by his condition. Thus the inflammatory stress is reduced. The contrast between the articles and the research question is that the research question wants evidence of how turmeric consumption directly reduces inflammatory pressure, but the reports are talking about how the use of turmeric will indirectly minimize fiery anxiety among the people living with osteoarthritis of the knee.
The articles that I choose answered the research question correctly. They tried to show how the intake of turmeric will improve the life of the people with osteoarthritis of the knee. In both the articles, we see the comparison that is brought about by the patients who use turmeric capsules and those who use the placebo. In both, the placebo life is not as improved as that of those who take turmeric. Therefore, once their life is improved, and then inflammatory stress will also be dealt with. Though the articles did not directly answer the question, the results showed the desired answer.
Conclusion
Both curcumin and turmeric have been used for many years to treat arthritis. They have some beneficial impacts on human beings. They also act as active ingredients to many types of food and many people usually use them as spices to flavor their food. Since they are close to the cell activity and signal regulation, they can be used as a therapeutic agent to patients who have arthritis. Naturally, turmeric can be used for inflation and pain, and this makes it an excellent adjunctive medicine to arthritis patients. Although all the benefits turmeric has to offer, it is good to seek doctor’s advice before starting to use it as a supplement. Significant use of turmeric will result in acid reflux, therefore; one is advised not to take on an empty stomach. For patient using other medication, it’s advisable not to use turmeric as the two would have an adverse reaction to the body. Health is the most important thing in one’s life, and we need to make sure that we do everything possible to stay healthy. Although arthritis is mostly associated the old generation in the society, young people should be conscientious. Some of the diseases related to the past and the poor in the organization are now affecting the young and wealthy people. It’s good to watch your diet since it contributes a lot to your health.
