Fetish Introduction
In the current society, it is apparent that a larger percentage of people are ignorant or unaware of matters pertaining sexuality. The Fetish Survey revealed that most people overlook the concept of sexual fetishism. As revealed by the results, a larger percentage of people in the society are not aware of what the term “Fetish” means. According to Ioerger et al. (2015), fetish refers to a turn-on feeling where an individual feels the need of engaging in an activity such as messy fun. Within the context of sexuality, it is evident that sexual fetishism refers to a sexual focus on an object without life. The object of excitement is known as a fetish. The sexual fetish may be considered as a mental disorder in situations where it results in noticeable psychosocial distress for an individual with an effect being noticed on the subject’s way of living. There are varied types of fetishes which people are unaware of their meaning. Gender, sex, and sexual orientation are some examples of fetishes which the society overlooks their meaning.
Pros and Cons of Fetish
There are several advantages and disadvantages associated to admitting to fetish. For instance, considering a case of admitting a person’s sexual fetish on an online dating platform can be a way of allowing the other users to make fun of an individual. Incidentally, putting it out there draws the wrong attention and communicates the wrong message altogether.

Wait! Fetish and My Fetish Survey Evaluation paper is just an example!

For instance, a person may be considered as easy going when it comes to intimate an affair which is not always the case. Prevalently, admitting to fetish can be terrifying as it means opening up and sharing intimate details about one’s self. As a result, chances are higher that a person will be judged or accused wrongly because of their fetish.
Differences between Sex, Gender and Sexual Orientation
Despite the existing similarities in the terms “sex” and “gender”, it is evident that the two have entirely different meanings. Sex is a term used to define biological differences such as chromosomes, bodily organs and hormonal profiles, on the contrary, gender is a term used to describe the features that a cultural group considers feminine or masculine. Therefore, sex as female or male remains to be a biological fact that all cultures of the society shares in while the role of a man and a woman as required by gender varies across cultures. For instance, an individual can be considered to be of the male sex based on the fact that he does not have the ability to give birth since he does not have ovaries. In addition, the person in context may have a deeper voice than that of the females. As is, gender roles greatly impact an individual’s health. According to Maas et al. (2015), gender role is a term used in sociology addressing behavior and features that culture links to the male and female sex. Incidentally, the meaning of the term “real man” under culture means the male party must implement all the masculine behaviors and features. Prevalently, a person is regarded as a male gender as a result of their masculine nature and behaviors.
Sexual orientation is a term referring to an established pattern of sexual a romantic attraction from the opposite sex. In special cases, an individual can be attracted to a person within the same sex and gender. Montemurro, Bartasavich and Wintermute (2015) indicate that there are instances where a person can be attracted to both sexes. Factually, a person’s sexual orientation depends on their genetic constituents resulting to homosexuality, heterosexuality, and bisexuality.
Improvement for better understanding before the Survey
For a better understanding of sex, gender and sexual orientation concepts, several improvements can be done. For instance, educating an individual on the biological features that a male has unlike the female will enlighten a person on the concept of sex. For example, the male sex has testicles while the females have ovaries. Using various examples as perceived by different cultures across the globe will aid in understanding the concept of gender. For instance, the African culture considers it a feminine role to look after children while a masculine role to be a family’s bread winner.
Who is aware of your fetish?
The terms “partner” and “spouse” are regarded as neutral statements when addressing the concept of sexuality. Prevalently, the terms vary based on a person’s age group as adolescents address the person aware of their fetish as boyfriend or girlfriend. However, there are also scenarios where a person may be attracted to another person despite the fact that they are not bound by any form of union. As a result, there is an increased need of including terms such as “not wife or husband” despite the fact that the derived conclusion may be a bit harsh on a person’s sexual orientation. Arguably, the terms may imply that a person is not straight in several occasions. However, the terms can still be used to indicate a hidden meaning of a person’s sexual orientation.
