In regards to the conclusions of the study, I agree with the inferences made. Basing my argument on the final statistics of the research, the difference in the use of hormone therapy solely to treat cancer and the use of both hormone and chemotherapy was about 1% (Mori & Nagao, 2014). Statistically, 1% is considered insignificant. I am of the opinion that the two forms of therapy are better if they are both used to treat cancer. Also, a study by Ryutaro Mori and Yasuko Nagao whose aim was to determine chemotherapy’s efficacy following the use of hormone therapy for breast cancer treatment validates my opinion. The study concluded that the chemotherapy efficiency for breast cancer treatment could not be determined from the prior efficacy of hormone therapy. The researchers recommended that the two types of therapies are given when necessary. In summary, for the most effective cancer treatment, especially in early-stage cancer treatment, the use of both chemotherapy and hormone therapy is recommended.

In nature, the healthy, fit and more adapted individuals or organisms always survive. Adaptation to the new surrounding relies on evolution which enables gaining of the desired characteristics. In regards to the evolution prowess of the trout fish, I agree that they achieved their desired characteristics within a short period. In support of the fast adaptation process, Theodore Garland conducted a study to determine how fast an organism adapts to a new environment.

The study’s aim involved selective cross-breeding of mice for high voluntary activities on running wheels. In conclusion, the finding of the study of the Fourth generation revealed that High Runner mice evolved from the crossbreeds. The high runner mice exhibited elevated maximal aerobic capacity (Rhodes, Gammie & Garland Jr, 2005). Pharmacological studies on the top runner attribute the evolution to the alteration of the dopamine function and endocannabinoid system.

In the recent years, there has been an upsurge in the number of suicide rates in the country. I believe that the increase in the suicide case results from the disconnection that people have developed from one another. Majority of those people with suicidal thoughts tend to be loners and prefer not to share their feelings with their friends. A survey carried out by the National Survey on drug use and Health shows that 16% of the participants abandoned the study (Pompili, 2012). Their reasons for not responding to the interview included refusal to participate and language barrier. Although the survey did not ask about suicidal thoughts, refusal to participate of some of the citizens proves the fact that, nowadays many people are disconnected from the outside world. In such cases, these people tend to have suicidal thoughts which have led to the drastic increase in suicidal rates in the country.

The discovery of the necroptosis causing protein is a significant milestone in the propagation of Crohn’s disease treatment. I agree that the therapy raises some concerns, although the benefits realized as a result of this discovery can be immense. The study conducted by Carret and Dovey showed that IP6 binds with specificity. Thus the IP6 protein can be restricted from binding. Interestingly, Crohn’s disease results from this type of binding, therefore, the restriction of the specific binding of IP6 protein can prove to be a cure for inflammatory cell diseases (Dovey et al., 2018). Although that seems like a promising idea, the questions raised on the methodology for testing the effectiveness of restricting IP6 binding are more of ethical concerns.

The alternative use of liquid biopsy has seen a tremendous change in cancer detection methodology employed during cancer screening. In my opinion, I agree that there needs to be a more conclusive data on the liquid biopsy on the detection of early-stage cancer. In a study carried out in John Hopkins hospital, blood samples from 1005 patients was used to try and detect early-stage cancer. The test identified about 33% to 98% of the cases based on the tumor type (Russo, Giordano & Rolfo, 2017). Although, the experiment did register false positives with 1% of the patients without cancer detected as having, I believe that if the specific proteins that cause cancer are identified, the use of biopsy can be escalated to early cancer detection.
