Diagnosis
The video is about Roman who is an 11 years old boy who is suffering from cerebral palsy. Roman disability is caused by the fact that he is a preterm birth baby. He was born exactly 11 weeks before his due birthday. This made him develop cerebral palsy which has made him have a reduced muscle tone and therefore unable to control most of his body parts. As such, other diagnostic characteristics that Roman shows are: he cannot walk or hold objects properly. He has to be supported for him to do many activities. From the video, it is evident that Roman cannot play Lego the same way his siblings do (UCSF California Preterm Birth Initiative, 2017). However, he can play other games especially those that do not require a lot of movements. This is seen in how he is playing with the dog and his sister. He cannot sit up properly unless he is supported. Additionally, Roman has a problem with speech. His speaks with a lot of difficulties and the words which come out of his mouth are not clear (UCSF California Preterm Birth Initiative, 2017).
What can be done to improve Roman’s condition For Roman to improve from his condition, he has to be subjected to some management procedures. He should be taken through some therapies such as physical therapy as this will help him strengthen his muscles. Through this therapy, his parents will be trained how to feed him, bathe him and even stretch his body parts thereby making him strong.

Occupational therapy should also be used where Roman should be trained on how to perform his daily tasks. He should be introduced to his routine gradually while helping him. For instance, he should be taught to wake up when he hears the alarm in the morning, to ensure he takes breakfast and other routines. Speech therapy should be used where Roman should be taught sign language to help him communicate effectively. Since he has a speech problem, by integrating speech and sign language, he will manage to talk properly. Away from these, Roman parents should ensure that he takes all the drugs that are prescribed for him. He should take valium, gablofen or other generalized spasticity which help in relaxing his muscles. Other drugs such as Botox should be used to enhance drooling.
Adaptive equipment
Roman requires advanced equipment such as thumb as well as wrist poisoning system. This will help him position his wrist and thumb in the appropriate position when playing Lego or using an iPad. The system minimizes unnecessary hand movements and therefore exhaustion when he is performing tasks which need the use of his hand. Also, the iPad which Roma uses should be installed with software that supports voice control. This will enable him to use the iPad by using his voice and not hands. This will be easy for him as it minimizes the use of hands which may be a problem for him. Organizing for playdates is a crucial adaptive environment for this child. This is because when he interacts with his friends, he stands a high chance of improving his speech.
Grading the activity to strengthen some areas
The activity has several benefits and helps pinpoint different behavior of the person being observed. The fact that the child is observed in different environments help understand his behavior at different places such as at school, when he is on his bed, when in the car and other places (UCSF California Preterm Birth Initiative, 2017). Also, through the presentation of Roman interacting with other people, helps learn how he conducts himself. However, the areas that need to be strengthened include the fact that Roman is not placed in an environment where he is with his friends. This will help see how he plays. It will be able to learn the games which can play and those which he cannot.
