Abstract
Relationship refers to the ways in which two or more objects, individuals or concepts are linked. As stated earlier on, there is a list of settings to which different attitudes and behaviors can describe and alter a particular relationship. The related influence of behavior and attitude on a relationship is the social setting. Attitude relies on one’s belief, and the past experience that might either be positive or negative. The effects are easily observable and the relationship can either be good or bad depending on the influence in which the relationship in setting receives CITATION Ken16 l 1033 (Cherry, 2016). Attitude also affects the way a particular individual, object or an artificial entity behaves, this connection, in turn, affects the way connected parties relate. Attitude and relationship are related since attitude can affect the way in which people relate to each other. Therefore, understanding attitude helps one to understand relationships both positive ones and negative ones.
Relationships and the Factors that Influence it
The way human beings relate is influenced by special factors. It is for this reason that an individual will be motivated to have a positive attraction towards another because of the characteristics to which this attracting party portrays. This research essay seeks to describe how both attitude and behavior influence the way we reason, the way we perceive others, the way we treat others, and eventually the way people relate to each other as an implication of behavior and attitude we portray.

This research essay considers a diverse platform from which it will form a descriptive structure that will enable us to understand how attitude, and behavior influence human-human relations, human beings’ relation to animals as well as the environment that would likely impact to the general well-being of people.
Attitude is a particular characteristic to which an individual will always describe in his day to day activities. Attitude has three key components that make it complete in an individual. The components are the affective component, the cognitive component, and the behavioral component. In psychology, this expression has been found to be very much distinct and that it is a concept in modern psychology that is indispensable. Behavior, on the other hand, is a different range of manners or doings to which a particular individual, an artificial event or entity, or an organism does as a result of the connection it has with its immediate surroundings.
The immediate surroundings of an entity that is characterized by a particular behavior to which this entity does are the environment. It is very critical to understand that doings of a particular artificial body or an organism can be classified as its behavior if the doings are repeated by this entity in a set number of times. Behavior can be said to be either conscious or subconscious, it can be described as being overt or covert, behavior can further be described as doings to which a particular entity does either voluntary or involuntary. Behavior is made-up by distinct attributes, these are; the behavior actor who is the one that does an individual doing, operation interactions which are aspects that result after a particular doing has been done, and mostly the traits of the behavior.
Experience is the first component that influences how one’s attitude develops. Experience is the continuous know-how to which an individual has about a particular aspect, object or doing. Experience is a result of constant exposure to which this person has about a particular aspect or object. Attitude may form directly or indirectly from experience, an individual who for example has an experience of vomiting after taking a special meal or drink will always have a negative attitude towards this causative object, the person will dislike the food or drink that causes vomiting. The conditioning that develops when one is exposed to something at one point affect people’s attitude in future. For instance, when a child is taught about the importance of avoiding strangers, they will form negative attitudes to new people they meet in life hence behaving differently.
Bandura believed that the human cognitive and the environment affect the attitudes that people develops towards other people or objects. Environment therefore, can entail things such as the social factors which affect opinion forming in many settings; they have a very strong influence on attitude development. Responsibilities assigned to individuals socially make them to socially relate to the tasks assigned to them; they are required by the roles assigned to them to behave distinctly. Imitation also goes hand in hand with the environment where children copy what they see in their environment as they start forming perceptions. The attitudes formed will articulate within the norms and rules to which these social functions stand for. Learning is another factor that forms an attitude, for the case where a company which has introduced a new product into the market, the attitude of potential buyers of the product is always formed. Advertisements of the new product’s attributes are like teaching the customer about the product CITATION Raz12 l 1033 (Katherine, 2012). What results in the later is the potential customer learning the better attributes of the new product, positive attitude by the customer to the product is thus developed through learning.
How to attitudes influence behavior?
Attitude definitively is the expression which we portray in favor or against a particular object, or aspectCITATION Mih90 p 123 l 1033 (Csikszentmihalyi, 1990, p. 123). Affective component of attitude entails how one feels towards something or somebody. When one has a positive feeling towards somebody, they are likely to behave in a way that can create health relationships with other people. For instance, when one has a feeling that observing friendship can make one to be successful, they will remain moral to succeed. This aspect has been found to influence the way we behave; behavior has been seen to change because of the expression we have in favor or against the way we used to do things. It is evident that people assume that people behave in a particular way because of their attitudes.
The cognitive component of attitude is another key element that affect how one behaves. Cognitive entails one’s belief about something. When the cognitive part of an individual is in the right direction they are likely to observe all the values of the society as opposed to when their belief is negative. Similarly, behavioral component of attitude influences the way one behaves. Bandura noted that one’s desire is internally driven while the approval might be externally driven. A child will wait for the approval from parents or the society to do something; however, the way the child believes will determine the way they will behave towards such activity that they are to undertake. Inconsistent in one’s feelings will always motivate a behavior change; this is because there is a cognitive disagreement with the way an individual portrays self-expressions. This disagreement will make an individual’s attitude towards his or her inconsistent feelings to change his or her behavior. When an attitude is repeatedly expressed, and the attitude tends to be in contrary with one’s behavior, an individual’s behavior change will always be influenced by attitude.
How do we change our behaviors?
The need to change our behavior may come as a result of the demand from the society in the way people are supposed to behave. The way we behave may certainly do us better than harm, in such cases, an individual will always change his or her behavior CITATION Raz12 l 1033 (Katherine, 2012). Extreme moods that may be injurious to an individual. For example, depressions as an extreme that result from mental problems will make an individual to change the way he or she behaves because depressions cause mental impairment. Bandura views learning as one way of changing behavior. He indicated that experience can help one to adjust on the way they behave hence attaining either positive or negative behaviors basing on the experience that they are subjected to them through experience.
When will attitudes influence behavior?
There are specific situations where an individual’s expression about a particular object either in favor or disfavor on it will make an individual to change his or her behavior to ensure it matches the ‘specifications’ of his or her attitude. A personal experience which makes a person develop an expression which is in disfavor against the object which makes an individual to gain the experience will always make this person to change his behavior, as seen in this situation attitude will change an individual’s behavioral relationship with the attitude developed. At the case where a particular stand either to gain or lose something, his or her attitude about an object, aspect or individual will always dictate in the way his or her behavior relations with what he or she is to lose or gain with his or her attitude.
An individual will always have a behavior change if the attitude is repetitive; if what he or she has as an attitude increases, it will yield good behavior, but if the position changes it will match his or her self-relation. How do we change our attitudes? There may emerge a situation where we are forced the way we express our disfavor or favor on a particular object or being CITATION Nig13 l 1033 (Benson & Collins, 2013). Attitudes can be changed easily by putting them in line with how we behave; that is when we have to match our behaviors with our attitudes. Our attitudes may be undesirable, and our views may be inconsistent and what we express needs to be in agreement with the way we portray how perceptions of things, we, therefore, have to change our attitudes.
