The impact of globalization in the tourism industry

Everyone talks about globalization and how circumstances have changed today. What is globalization and how does our life and growing tourism influence? What consequences does it imply? The positive and negative effects of globalization should be explained with reference to tourism, as will be seen later in the example of the country of Mexico.

The globalization

The globalization process describes economic and political relations between states and continents, but also personal connections between people. It is understood that men living in the world negotiate with each other, exchange with each other and that they can also get benefits from each other in several areas such as politics, economy, culture, environment and society.

Thanks to globalization, an exchange is possible in sectors such as politics, economy and technique. In the case of crises or conflicts, people related to policy cooperate to find a solution. Globalization improves the conditions of exploration worldwide and increases the capacity for innovation, thus countries can profit from technical research more quickly. Creating jobs, developing countries take advantage of the job offer and can therefore fight unemployment. We have an offer of extensive goods due to the importation of the goods of distant countries, for example that we can buy exotic fruits and vegetables all year. Prices go down because we import cheap technical or textile goods from China.

Wait! The Impact Of Globalization In The Tourism Industry paper is just an example!

The constant availability of all imaginable goods at any time and at a low price constitutes a simplification of our daily lives. There is no doubt that people are interconnected worldwide by communications technology. As a result, an information exchange is possible and that is why we have the option of access to knowledge. At the same time, the expansion of companies and the possibility of doing business helps relaunch their own economy. Mobility is booming, people travel through foreign countries especially by plane, but also by car or ship and this leads to the growth of the world economy, of what the tourism sector benefits.

Obviously, there are disadvantages of development. Inequalities between rich and poor intensify more and more. This is because workers in developing countries earn petty salaries and slaughter in poor working conditions. The exploitation, also of minors, is the norm. Particularly few companies have no opportunity in front of global actors, so they suffer from competition. Jobs move in countries with low salary costs in which production is cheaper. People who normally work in companies lose their positions. International financial flows are uncontrollable over time, that is, the danger of financial crisis increases. The one that is the most dangerous and serious inconvenience is the loading of the environment. The emissions of the factories lead to the greenhouse effect.

The tourism

Travel makes us happier, because we acquire experiences and new impressions, we can escape from everyday life for some time and also meet people around the world. We expand our horizons and learn to value the diversity of the unique planet. All this is possible because of tourism. What tourism means, as it has developed and what it has as consequences, is illustrated in the following.

According to the World Tourism Organization, tourism is currently defined as the activities carried out by people during their trips and stays in places other than their natural environment for a consecutive period of time lower than an anus for leisure purposes, byBusiness and other reasons.

Before, tourism had another importance. The word „Tourism" comes from the French language and is taken from the term "Grand Tour", which was a trip in the 15th and 18th centuries made by abundant Europeans in several states such as France, Germany, Netherlands and Italy. Main objective was to educate the young nobles the knowledge and achievements of modern European countries to form a body of diplomats, politicians and military. At that time, tourism meant a ceiling rather than a leisure acitivity. At the beginning of the 19th century, modern tourism began, but it was still an activity reserved for the upper class. Tourists changed their views and worried more about the observation of the places they visited.

Tourism has developed as the fastest and fastest economic sector of many countries and implies with that positive and negative aspects. It makes it possible to make huge investments in infrastructure, which is very important to improve the living conditions of the population and also of tourists. It is the largest export generator in the world. Due to tourism, new jobs are created and unemployment is reduced, for example in tourist institutions such as restaurants. Tourists want to try the typical dishes of a country and for this. A large flow of money arises with the flow of people visiting the tourist areas that drives the economy. Travel represents an ideal possibility to recreate, make new friends, spend time with the family, learn new things and a cultural exchange. To achieve the objective of maximizing the positive effects of tourism and minimizing negative consequences, the work of non -governmental organizations is fundamental. They militate in favor of human rights and the improvement of the environmental protection and conservation awareness.

However, the inconveniences are versatile. Many countries depend on tourism because it is the only thing they can offer. The jobs that are created are in the majority unqualified, temporary and with little perspective of promotion, such as cleaning and kitchen. In the summer times, the cities are overcrowded, so many guests do not come in the winter season that leads to desertification. Errors in tourist destinations can lead to mass tourism. Considering creating new hotels or attractions, they damage the atmosphere as long as trees, destroy reefs or in general marine life. There are also people who do not respect the customs and traditions of local inhabitants or who do not understand that they are in another place and that there are things that are done differently. They forget their good ways and do not care about the garbage and the dirt of the environment. In this way, they contaminate the environment and harm water and air.

Mexico as an example

Mexico is characterized by its diversity of tourist care poles and is among the ten most visited destinations in the world. It has a variety of landscapes such as perennial tropical jungles, savannas with cactus and volcanoes, magnificent beaches on the coasts and a warm climate throughout the year.

He has a rich cultural history and indigenous peoples still live their folk traditions, in addition artistic crafts play a fundamental role. All materials such as wood, stone, leather, glass or silver process. This likes tourists who buy the works to have a souvenir and travel memories.

Related to the increase in international tourism, the demand for memories also increases. Non -industrial areas also benefit from globalization because foreigners want to know and enjoy landscapes and nature. In addition, because of tourism, different cultures converge international aspects with Mexican culture, which can be a positive, but also negative thing. The positive aspect is that nations come together and can learn useful things for life. On the other hand, integration into the capitalist world leads to the loss of the identity of indigenous peoples. With tourism, a consciousness for the protection of the environment and cultural heritage has been developed and improved.

Another thing that happens is that globalization implies the intertwining of the people, communication with each other and that relationships between the men of the planet are planted. Therefore, racism and intolerance should not have a place in our life. But why there is then a conflict between the United States and Mexico? Why does Trump, the US president, build a wall on the border of Mexico although it is the third commercial partner for the United States?

Trump characterizes Mexico as people who steal jobs, bring drugs and crime to the country and the worst, which are rapists. That is why he wants to build a wall to make it impossible that Mexico can come to the country without being controlled. But today, the number of Mexico people who arrive in the United States decreases more and more. The Mexicans who come want to have a life with better possibilities and do the work that Americans do not want to practice because it is very hard.

We notice that it is an imagination that the world is as interconnected as described in theory, and that for the conversion of a tolerant and respectful world we need more time. It needs to establish a world in what there are no inequalities because of race, color, culture or creed, in which we can benefit from the same rights. The globalization and communication that goes with that is the means to obtain a world that is characterized by respect and tolerance.

In general, globalization has helped to facilitate our life and enables several opportunities. With reference to tourism, there are still inconveniences that can be removed or at least, they can be improved. Globalization allows the development and growth of tourism in Mexico, which does not always carry good things. All together, we need to work effectively for a better world and because of globalization we can obtain this goal.
