The Impact of Popular Technology Trends on the Thought Process
Amidst rapid advancements in technology, there have been numerous arguments against and in favor of increased use of technology. Technophiles and futurists alike argue that increased use of technology would usher in a new utopia and therefore encourage its use. Luddites, on the other hand, argue that increased use of technology is destructive and therefore oppose its use. One of the areas of intense debate about technology is whether popular trends in technology influence the way people think or people make things popular and change when they adopt what is popular. This paper argues that popular trends in technology significantly impact the way people think.
Thinking is a cognitive process that entails reasoning about something (Carr 48). The brain, which controls the thought process, is plastic and when it is exposed to any regular activity, changes occur in the various pathways it uses to control processes including the thought process (Carr 52). Thus, the exposure of the brain to popular technology trends would affect the brain pathways and consequently influence the way people think. There are numerous popular technology trends in the present day world all of which influence the way people think. To clearly explain this influence, there is the need to tie it to some specific popular trends. One of the most popular trends in technology today is the internet. The internet has facilitated constant access to information which makes people multi-task more and consequently become more distractible in their thought processes.

Wait! The Impact of Popular Technology Trends on the Thought Process paper is just an example!

As popular trends in technology emerge, their use changes the brain pathways of the users. Since the brain controls the thought process, exposure to the popular trends in technology influences the way people think.
