Climate change has been witnessed over time and has gradually changed due to natural factors and the human activities. The Ocean covers over 70% of the total earth surface. Thus, it greatly helps in establishing the weather on the entire earth. Specialized instruments, specifically the CTDs are used to record specific aspects in the ocean. The CTD (Conductivity Temperature and Depth recorders) are submerged at particular points in the ocean and gather information regarding the salinity, pressure, temperature, and carbon IV oxide levels in the water. The instrument also collects water samples for research in the lab. Any change in climate will first be experienced in the oceans. A warmer ocean affects the coastal regions mostly due to the shift in Carbon dioxide levels in the air and the ocean. The coastal areas experience strong storms and hurricanes that are caused by the ocean becoming warmer. The increase in temperature makes the water to expand and the sea level rises with the melting ice (Petersen, Dorothy & Robert, 130).
Climate change has been eminent as it takes gradual change. Hurricanes are caused by the increase in the difference between the temperature of the ocean and the atmospheric temperature. The greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide hold the temperature transmission. The winds blowing and the increased level of water in the sea propel hurricane storms. The hurricane storm reaches the shows and causes damages on both life and property.

The increase in temperature makes the icebergs melt and those in the mountains bringing about the rise in sea level. Coastal communities are significantly affected when the storms come in high intensity that destroys life and property. The torrential rains that accompany the hurricanes also increase the level of fresh water that brings about floods that cause great distractions.
Under normal conditions, the Pacific weather is controlled by high-pressure systems that are warmly located in the atmosphere around the equator. This event affects the trade winds that blow towards the west on the equator. The movement drags the surface waters that are warm along with them. With the warm waters gone, the cold water that comes from the east rises replacing the void left. When an El Niño happens, the activity of the trade winds is altered as they slacken and reverse the normal flow of the tropical surface waters that are warm. A region that has been affected negatively by El Niño is the coast of the Pacific along Mexico and the United States (Petersen, Dorothy & Robert, 132).
