Introduction

The story that a boy named Efraín was deeply in love with a woman, this woman was her cousin in which she was her love in gross. However this relationship was a love fantasy. Efraín left the hacienda of his parents to continue his medical studies in London, Efraín returns at the age of 20 to visit his family and Maria during his stay at Casa Maria always used to place flowers every day in the room that wasfrom Efraín. 

Maria was in love with Efraín before without having confessed, Maria’s father was widower, since Maria’s mother had died of an epileptic disease Maria was a Jewish girl and taught her Christianity. Before all this Efraín’s parents discover that he was in love with Maria, then Efraín’s friend named Carlos wanted to propose Maria and Maria decides not to accept marriage because she was in love with Efraín.

Developing

One afternoon, Maria suffers a collapse and that is when they discover that she had the same condition as her mother and therefore, if Efraín wanted to marry Maria she had to be aware of the possible early death of her beloved. However Maria regains health because Efrain’s love feels next and she wants to stay alive to marry him. 

An early morning Efraín left with his father to attend several businesses in other estates when Efraín’s father arrived receives a letter where he discovers that he has lost a huge amount of money. This unfortunate news makes Efraín’s father sick, but thanks to the good care of Efraín de la Mother and Maria he could recover, but Efraín told his father that he could take care of the other estates, but his fatherHe said not that he had to continue with his medical studies, so Efraín went to embark on a ship that went to London to continue his studies.

Already in London, Efraín received very loving and tender letters from Maria however the letters stopped arriving and Lorenzo friend of her father took a letter from the family where they asked Efraín to return as soon as she home because Maria had become seriously illof the absence of his beloved. Efraín undertook his trip immediately back home.

Among several boat trips, Canoa and Horse and after a long travel period, Efraín managedHe had died after that Efraín spent very difficult moments and his father was regretted for having separated them.

 Emma tells Maria’s last moments of life where she confesses her deep love to him and gives her a chest where Maria’s long tense tense were the ring that he had given her and the letters that Efrain wrote there decides to return to EuropeTo continue their studies, but not before touring the places where I spend happy moments with Maria and visit her grave.

• My personal opinion: it seems to me that this text is a way of expressing a romanticism that was lived at that time and how to love between two people is very satisfactory and very nice I also want to attach that this story is one of the best of romanticism thatI have read, since he expresses love worth happiness sadness among many qualities.
