How will you take advantage of being “at the very center of business” (250 words)
My goals are to develop my marketing skills and succeed in entrepreneurship. I consider Columbia Business School to be the best in facilitating me achieve my goals. The opportunity to study in the school will enhance my understanding of marketing management as well as improve my business skills. Business adaptability skills and creation of business opportunities will also be enhanced in the course of study. This is in line with the school’s philosophy which is the entrepreneurial mindset. The school is located in New York which is a hub for real-world business enterprises. The school has a symbiotic relationship with the surrounding world-renowned marketing companies. I am looking forward to benefiting from this relationship whereby I will seek an internship in one of the marketing firms. Some of these global firms have their headquarters in this city hence providing a learning opportunity on the critical operations of the firm such as marketing.
The New York City is an important resource to me as I will learn various business and marketing concepts in class and apply them in real work thus enhancing my career. New York City is a business center where high technologies, as well as the most innovative firms, are located. Understanding innovation, technological changes and drivers of business growth is crucial to become a successful entrepreneur. It is for these reasons I consider studying in New York City to enabling me to achieve my career goals.

The internship will be crucial in enabling me to learn how an organization uses creativity and innovation to create solutions to complex problems. In line with our school philosophy of creating an entrepreneurial mindset, the courses to be learned will provide an opportunity to identify value and capture the best opportunity. The more than 100 firms adjacent to the school will create opportunities to learn more marketing skills thus enhance my career since we are the center of business in New York City.
