Success in the nursing profession is based on several factors which include but are not limited to, critical thinking, being kind and compassionate, strict organizational skills, dedication, excellent communication skills, physical and mental endurance. Moreover, writing and study skills form a crucial part of endurance and success in the nursing career. Excellent writing skills, study skills, stress management and critical thinking form the core basis of excellence in the nursing profession (Miller et al., 2015).
Scholarly writing and study skills are an essential aspect of communication for nurses to illustrate new evidence and research in this particular profession. For this case, written communication in the nursing field exhibits a direct relationship with the patient quality of care and safety. Formal writing skills in the nursing profession can be used to disseminate crucial information concerning the nursing profession and practices to the extended nursing community. A proper understanding of the writing and critical thinking skills in this field is an essential component of the nursing degree program since it impacts directly to the patient well-being. As such, the skills learned from this course will have a significant impact towards developing my career goals and objectives as a nurse (Stevens et al., 2014).
Through the writing course, the knowledge and skills garnered will help me to identify, articulate and concentrate on a specific define purpose in the nursing profession.

Also, it will enhance my understanding of the nursing degree program at an advanced level. In addition to this, the writing and critical thinking skills acquired through this course will enhance and develop my research skills for easy access and retrieval of appropriate information from different sources in the nursing profession. Finally, these skills will provide a basic platform for thinking, reading, writing, and communication in a professional manner that follows the nursing profession requirements.
